2024 Sylvan Green Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir

2024 Sylvan Green Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Gris

Our Pinot Gris comes from the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, a cool, wind-shaped subregion of the Willamette Valley known for precision and natural balance. Long summer days, cool afternoons, and volcanic soils slow ripening and preserve freshness, allowing the variety to express clarity rather than weight. The result is a Pinot Gris defined by restraint, energy, and a quiet sense of place.

2024 Vintage Notes:

The 2024 season unfolded at an unhurried pace, shaped by moderate temperatures and cool September days that allowed for a calm, intentional harvest. The result is a vintage defined by natural energy, balance, and quiet precision.

Winemaking:

Harvested early to preserve natural acidity, the fruit was gently whole-cluster pressed and settled cold before fermentation. Fermentation took place primarily in stainless steel at cool temperatures to retain aromatic lift and clarity, with a small portion aged in neutral oak for texture. Malolactic fermentation was largely restrained to maintain freshness and precision. The wine was bottled after a short élevage to capture the energy and clean, mineral-driven profile typical of Willamette Valley Pinot Gris.

Tasting Notes:

Bright and finely detailed, this Pinot Gris opens with notes of citrus peel, pear, and fresh orchard fruit, carried by brisk natural acidity. Cool winds from the Van Duzer Corridor preserve energy and lift, while subtle mineral tones from volcanic soils shape a crisp, refreshing finish. Elegant, focused, and quietly expressive of site.
